TICO Restaurant on 14th Street Reviewed – Be Careful!

Last Tuesday my friend and I went to TICO Restaurant on 14th street in Washington DC.  TICO had only been opened for two weeks so we had to consider that they were only getting their training wheels on.  So with that in mind after finishing our meal we had to ask ourselves if could it have been better, would we go back, could it have been worse, where else would we go if we were craving modern Latino foods?

BBQ Bacon Croissant Roll Ups Recipe

bbq bacon and cheese croissant recipeBBQ bacon croissant rollups are fun and easy to make, not to mention amazing.  They are an idea I had when shopping the other week so I tried to make them.  They are perfect for breakfast, guests or even serving in the afternoon during a game or for snack foods with guests.

BBQ Bacon Croissant Rollups Recipe.

What you need:

  • 1 package of premade croissant dough
  • 1 lb. of bacon
  • Your favorite bbq sauce
  • Your favorite cheese shreds
  • 1 non stick cookie sheet

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees or whatever it says on your premade croissant dough.  Take your non stick cookie sheet and unroll your dough into triangles.  Now take bbq sauce and pour some on the dough and spread across it.  Now take a slice of bacon and cut it into two piece with one piece about one third of the slice.  Take the longer piece and line it along the long part of the dough.  Take the smaller piece of bacon and place it across the top.  Now toss some of the cheese shreds inside and then roll them into croissants.  Now add a bit more cheese on top and bake until the dough and the bacon are both cooked thoroughly.  Raw bacon is not healthy or safe to eat.  You can always cook it a bit before adding it to your dough if you want to make sure it is thoroughly cooked.  Now let them cool and serve.
