BBQ Bacon and Crap Roll Skewers – OMG YUM!

I had to clean my fridge out and found a huge thing of jumbo lump crab meat, bacon and a delicious spicy bbq sauce.  When I went over to my freezer I also found chorizo I forgot to use and a thing of skewers (I made the chorizo version later).  That’s when I realized there is something seriously delicious that is about to happen.  If you want an amazing appetizer or even to serve something simple to make as a meal, this is the perfect one for you!

What you will need:

  • 1lb of bacon
  • 1 container of crab meat
  • chicken breasts
  • your favorite bbq sauce
  • 1 package of chorizo
  • wooden skewers

How to prepare:

First pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.  Next take a roasting pan that the skewers can sit across or a cookie sheet and cover it with aluminum foil to protect it from dripping fat.  Next lay your bacon out flat on a counter or table.  Cut your chicken breasts into chunks and space them out in 1/3 spaces on the bacon.  Now add a bit of chorizo and a piece of crab meat.

Now take a shark knife and slice the bacon into thirds.  Now roll the pieces so that the chicken, chorizo and crab meat are secured inside the bacon and skewer them.  Bake these until you see the bacon, chorizo and chicken are cooked (around 25 to 30 minutes).

While they are cooking, you may want to take a cooking paint brush thing (I don’t know what the actual name is) and paint bbq sauce over the skewers.  It adds a ton of flavor to them.  I pan fried mine so that I could brush them easier.

Once cooked simply wait until their cool enough to take off of the skewers (or serve them on the skewers) or if you’re having a party, take them off of the skewers and plate them.  Another option is to plate them and use a toothpick so your guests can easily pick them up, dip them and eat them.  These are an awesome and fun finger or party food to make that everyone will love!
